Hi, I'm Ian.  I grew up around the US, attending 12 schools in 4 states before going to college in Los Angeles and making Southern California my home.  I've worn many hats through my professional career, currently as a Production Accountant for TV shows you might watch.  Working with a great Wedding Photographer when my wife & I got married in Yosemite inspired me to take my hobby seriously and invest more time in developing my skills.

 

It is a huge responsibility to be entrusted by a family with memorializing the most cherished days of their lives and I try to use my camera to faithfully capture the experience as felt by those present.  I have always thought the best photographs of people are when they have no idea a lens is pointed at them, capturing genuine moments that reflect their personality.  Laughter instead of "Cheese!"  A tender conversation and wearing your emotions on your sleeve are the memories that stick with us.

 

I relish the challenge of Wedding Photography due to the nature of not getting those hours to do over.  Portrait Photography is about creating a connection with the subject such that the viewers of the final images feel that same connection.
